The book of Exodus opens with a grand note of fulfillment. The promises made to Adam and Abraham that they would have many children is in the process of being fulfilled. Nevertheless, the Pharaoh of Satan unleashes his wrath against the children of Israel in Egypt. The children of Israel and all the people of God remember, in the context of intense persecution, the promises of God. That is all they can do in a time like this.
