The question that I have been hearing from a few men in the Christian faith is “Who are the authorities?”
They make the case that in American law, the power is in the people, and the state is the servant. If that is the case, is Romans 13 geared towards the state? Or are the authorities the men with guns?
Also, if our constitution is backwards, are we to not submit to it and apply God’s word to society like a theonomist?
If we are to use natural law in society, wouldn’t that lead us to believe that things like income tax and traffic tickets are not legal? Knowing that those laws are in violation with right to property and right to travel?
Thanks -Eric
