Christ’s sufferings spilled over into the lives of His apostles. We who hear and believe the apostolic message have Christ’s sufferings spill over into our lives, too. These sufferings include persecution and other consequences of following Jesus, along with the agony of the common curse. We are called now to patiently endure, knowing that because Jesus suffered for us, our sufferings now will lead to the glories He will lavish on us later.
