Unable to plug the gaping hole left by his inability to account for absolute standards of morality, Dawkins resorts in chapter seven to try and discredit the Bible as that plug. Of course, he again proceeds to critique something without any foundation for objectivity; also, he analyzes the Scripture in such a simplistic manner that you are forced to wonder if such a learned man ever actually read this Bible he attacks.

Not much to add here except that I am astounded that a man of such education takes such a simplistic view of the Bible as though it should be read as a morality tale where nothing bad ever happens in it. I think there is no other explanation than that Dr. Dawkins thinks Christians are stupid. He misses the whole point, which is that “There is no one who does good, not even one…” He would never read any other historical document the way he reads the Bible, so I think there is also a level of dishonesty going on here. I have seen many arguments from atheists, but never any so intellectually puerile as this. I hope his aguments get better, as I think Christians are able to refute better arguments than this.
