(27:32)
The Canons of Dort is a response document to the “Remonstrance,” which was an attack on the Reformed Faith in the 17th century. The Canons do not represent the “Five Points of Calvinism” but rather five heads of doctrine clarifying what the Reformed believe. The doctrine is grand and comforting. This catechetical sermon gives a brief historical introduction and treats the first five articles of the first head of doctrine on election.
Sermon text: Canons of Dort, Head 1:1-5
Scripture Lesson: Ephesians 2:1-10
