(31:25)
If you don’t understand how sinful you are and what Christ has done to forgive your sin you won’t be grateful. The reverse is true – if you can grasp how wretched you are and that Christ suffered the hell of God’s wrath on the cross in your place then deep and profound gratitude follows. The Israelites in this passage sing praises out of gratitude to God because God slew Pharaoh the dragon, recreated His people to follow Him and promised to built them a palace in the Promised Land. We’ll also examine the Ancient Near Eastern background of this historical event.
