(33:01)
Many people argue that the Ten Commandments should be posted in our schools and courtrooms. But how many of these same people understand the covenantal context of the Ten Commandments? Several biblical texts speak of the commandments as the “ten words,” which are the “words of the covenant” (Ex. 34:28). The commandments understood in the context of a covenant tell you that they are not just abstract laws for society but God’s binding law. That law demands what no person can do except Christ: love God and neighbor perfectly.
