(30:10)
Should you read your Bible? Yes. However, hearing the Word of God preached is more important. Scandal! Most today would say personal Bible reading is the priority and listening to sermons or “messages” is secondary. According to one historian, seminarians during the Reformation weren’t even allowed to read their Bibles until they were thoroughly catechized. But today everyone reads their Bible and creates their own personal ad hoc catechism. The Bible itself argues that preaching is the priority and the way in which a Christian grows in his or her faith.
