The author of Hebrews warns that Christians can lose interest in the Gospel. One of the chief ways in which this may happen is by ignoring the preaching of the Word. Therefore, the author argues that Christians must pay much closer attention to the preaching of the Word so they won’t “drift away from it.” The motivation for listening to the Gospel is the Gospel itself – it is compelling.
