Matthew 16:1-20 | Keys of the Kingdom

Most Evangelicals put an emphasis on their decision to “accept Jesus into their heart.” This emphasis includes the belief that they can give themselves assurance of their salvation. Essentially they believe that they broker their salvation. But Jesus argues in this passage that the church brokers salvation. Therefore, comfort of salvation and the assurance therefore, is known in the true visible church, which yields the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven.
