True Faith

Faith alone. The battlecry of the Reformation. But what does it mean? The slogan reveals the Biblical truth that sinners are saved not by any works, but by God’s mercy freely given to them, and received by them only by the instrument of faith. This sermon explains the four kinds of faith (historic, temporary, miracles, and true) as well as the distinction between moving, meritorious, instrumental, and final causes of our justification.
