Are Christians bound to obey the magistrate (government/state) absolutely? Should Christians identify God’s blessings and the church’s fortunes with a particular nation or political party? Listen to learn that ethnicity, national allegiance, and political affiliation do not trump Christ’s call to the believer to be loving, humble, and a peacemaker. Our citizenship is in heaven, and our allegiance is to God alone. This has serious ramifications for the life of the Christian so long as God leaves him in this world.
