Man’s religions all teach that the powers/gods can be appeased, manipulated, or bargained with. Consequently, all man made religion teaches the methods needed to accomplish your ends. But God teaches that his love gracious, given freely. All that we do, even applying the covenant sign he commands, merit nothing, but are given to us to provide us teaching and comfort.
