Calvinists and Arminians have debated the context and meaning of this text for centuries. As usual, the Reformers had it right. Christians do not become instantly obedient to God’s law upon their regeneration, but fight an internal battle their whole lives, until God takes them to glory. As Paul warns in Galatians, do not try to finish in the flesh, the work that God began by the Spirit.

What Inside war are you speaking about? There is Spiritual Warfare, and we as Christians need to be ready at all times to defend the Word of God, The real battles are where Free Will is argued.
